Blizzard City Gym — Leader Alice
Alice runs the third gym in Pokémon Unbound, in snowy Blizzard City. She’s a Flying-type specialist, and her gym has a nasty trick: a Tailwind blows through the building, making her Flying Pokémon move first. Here’s how to solve the puzzle and beat her.

⚠️ The Tailwind problem
A Tailwind blows inside this gym, doubling the speed of all Flying-type Pokémon. That means Alice’s team will almost always move first. You can fight it by bringing your own Flying-types (they get the boost too) or using moves that slow the enemy down — otherwise, plan for moving second.
The gym puzzle
The gym is full of fans and holes in the floor. Fans blow you up to the floor above; holes drop you down. The goal is to find the right chain of fans and holes that leads to Alice. Here’s the route:

- From the entrance, walk up and step on the first fan at the top of the room.
- On the new floor, go left and drop through the hole.
- Back on the ground floor, take the fan at the far right. A trainer guards this path but you can run past if you time it right.
- After that fan, drop through the hole next to you.
- Head to the end of the room and take the fan on the upper side.
- Up here there are two paths — go straight up past the trainer (this fight is not optional), then drop through the hole at the end.
- Follow the corridor down and step on the fan at the far side.
- You’ll land in a long corridor. Walk the narrow path to the end — another unavoidable trainer — then drop through the hole in the center of the small room.
- On the lower level, go left to the end and take the fan back up.
- Walk down and drop through the hole opposite you.
- On the ground floor again, take the fan to your left.
- Go straight up to the end of the room and beat the final trainer guarding the path (not skippable).
- Step on the fan at the end — it takes you to Alice.
Before the fight, heal up. You’ll face four Bird Keepers on the way (Edwin, Sebastian, Perry, Robert) — good warm-up for what’s coming.

Alice’s team changes with your difficulty setting. Here’s every version:

| Gliscor | 31 | Ground / Flying | Bulldoze, Acrobatics, Knock Off (Flying Gem) |
| Dodrio | 32 | Normal / Flying | Aerial Ace, Quick Attack |
| Crobat | 32 | Poison / Flying | Venoshock, Air Cutter, Acrobatics |
| Pinsir (Mega) | 33 | Bug / Flying | X-Scissor, Double Hit, Brick Break (Pinsirite) |

| Crobat | 32 | Poison / Flying | Air Slash, Heat Wave, Sludge Bomb (Focus Sash) |
| Pinsir (Mega) | 33 | Bug / Flying | Facade, Storm Throw, Earthquake (Pinsirite) |
On Expert and Insane, Alice mega evolves Pinsir — it becomes Bug/Flying and hits much harder. It’s also 4x weak to Rock, so that’s your opening.
How to beat Alice
Almost everything Alice has is weak to Rock, Electric, or Ice. Gliscor is the standout — it’s 4x weak to Ice, so one Ice move usually ends it. Mega Pinsir is 4x weak to Rock.
The real problem is speed. With Tailwind doubling her Flying-types’ speed, she moves first nearly every turn. You have three answers:
- Bring your own Flying-type — it gets the Tailwind boost too.
- Use speed-lowering moves — Rock Tomb and Bulldoze slow her team down while dealing super-effective damage.
- Just take the hits — bulky Rock and Steel types can survive a hit and strike back hard.
Good catches nearby: Cubchoo, Sneasel, and Snorunt (Ice) on Route 8 and the Frozen Forest, and Flaaffy (Electric) on Route 8. An Ice-type that can take a hit is the single best answer to this gym.
Watch out for Crobat on higher difficulties — it’s fast even without Tailwind, and on Insane it carries a Focus Sash, so plan for it surviving one hit.
