⚡ How TMs & HMs work in Unbound
- TMs are reusable — use them as many times as you like, no more one-use discs.
- HMs work outside battle — Cut, Fly, Surf, Strength, Dive, Rock Smash, Waterfall and Rock Climb unlock as you progress the story.
- Collect all 120 TMs to complete the “All the Right Moves” mission (Mission #006) and earn a Gold Bottle Cap.

Are TMs reusable in Pokémon Unbound?
Yes. Every TM works unlimited times — teach Thunderbolt to your whole team if you want.
How many TMs are there?
120 TMs plus 8 HMs, 128 total. Collecting all 120 TMs completes Mission #006 and earns a Gold Bottle Cap.
Can I miss any TMs?
Most are on the ground or in shops, but a few are one-time story or event rewards — check each TM’s location so you don’t walk past one.
Do I need all HMs to finish the game?
The story gives you each HM when you need it. Rock Climb is the only one locked to the post-game.
